gm. ever since this eustachium dysfunction popped up in my left ear alongside sinusitis as a result thereof, my ENT doc says any earbuds sealing the ear channel is bad. haven't used my pros for about a month now. he says 3rd gen is OK.

Oh I see, you mean regular AirPods, not AirPods Pro. The noise cancellation of AirPods Pro is the primary feature for me! I guess I'll have to keep risking my ears, for now.

Yup, that's why I bought the first generation Pros, and had them replaced twice on the 23rd months because of that design flaw but again we should be away from anything that seals the ear channel. Yes, 3rd gen usuals. Checked Böse and Sony offers similar solutions but they look clunky.
