New platform trend to watch in the coming years – "open metaverse" browser engines. If traditional operating systems and web browsers render apps/websites in discrete 2D spaces, metaverse browsers composite "spatial fabrics" into a shared 3D extended reality. Even though you see a shared geometric projection, each spatial fabric service is driven by a sandboxed runtime the same way web browsers sandbox webpages by their URL origin. RP1's first prototype metaverse engine is Sneeze, and their newly-alpha browser client is called Artemis.
