So you know how Capital One bought Discover a while ago? I had credit cards at both institutions, and I also had different email addresses and different phone numbers connected to each account. Signed in today to find that BOTH phone numbers are now selectable 2FA code receiving options for BOTH accounts. What’s more, both email addresses are now valid options for receiving email notifications for both accounts, and the one I used for Discover was automatically assigned as the “primary email” in my Capital One account on my behalf 😅 Mergers and acquisitions, man. So goofy. Also a good reminder that privacy is cooked when it comes to all things TradFi and custody of your personal information can and will change on a whim.
