Kazakhstan first impressions:
City center is super clean and efficient, Alem sphere coworking space + overall Astana Hub campus is stunning and futuristic. Turnaround time for infrastructure setup seems fast – I already have facial recognition access at the entrance, a room with a bare concrete floor was fully carpeted by the next day, and brand new turnstiles have just materialized by the elevators on the @ns floor waiting to be nailed in.
A few dozen returning @ns members are here for the first cohort and a few new members who are locals are already teaching Russian/Kazakh language + culture to the rest of the group.
Huge turnout for the opening day presentation – good amount of representation from government officials, but also pleasantly surprised how many locals came and engaged. They seem friendly, hospitable and genuinely excited @ns is here in their country.
