Been thinking about this ever since @cameron said it on Okay Banger with @christin. Feels painfully real but still kinda hopeful. Made me realize the real edge isn’t just making something good, it’s making something better than the slop people didn’t even know they settled for “The doomer take (h/t @cameron on Okay Banger) is that most people don’t have taste, so you can flood the field with slop and they won’t notice. But even with how fast media moves, people still recognize when something’s a better version of the slop they’re used to. And over time, they gravitate toward it. If they don’t, then we’ve got bigger problems.”
