Happy Drone Day! New playlist! If you've seen my previous casts about Drone Day, you probably know that I look forward to this annual celebration every year. "But Danica, you listen to drone music *every* day!" Of course! But Drone Day gives me built-in permission to carry on about my love of drone music even more effusively than usual. Surely I can't be expected to resist that opportunity? This year I won't be hosting a mini-retreat for the occasion, but hopefully I can organize one in 2026. However, the date happened to align with the release of Bandcamp's brand new playlist feature (in beta), so I made a new Drone Day playlist on Bandcamp. https://bandcamp.com/dswanson/playlist/drone-day-2025

Notes: - You must be logged into your Bandcamp account to listen (fan accounts are free). - Each artist sets the number of free listens they allow (default is 3). Many drone artists allow unlimited free plays. - Some tracks list the label name rather than the artist name. Here's the correct tracklist (track name + artist name): 1. Bruce Lee - The End of the World Championship 2. Cold Seeps in Holes - Red Fog 3. LËD - Tim Six 4. Hyper Space-Time Tunnelling - Montauk 5. Activity II (Beta) - Heidseck 6. Absolute Grey - Derek Piotr 7. Ademslak - Hessel Veldman 8. Natura Renovatur - Creation 6 9. My Room on the Floor - Emra Grid 10. Apeiron - Ab Intra 11. Collect Yourself - Well Arranged - ELEH 12. Drone Plane - Symphocat 13. Dronescape 13 - Cousin Silas

If the earlier tracks are too out-there for you, skip to the last two tracks ("Drone Plane" by Symphocat and "Dronescape 13" by Cousin Silas) and see what you think. That'll still give you 90 minutes of deep slow drones (with a somewhat lighter vibe) to reward patient, attentive listening. And finally: if you like any of these tracks and want to hear more, make a note of the artists/titles. I love to nerd out about the genre, and I'll be re-starting my playlist service soon too.
