I think happiness is an internal state. We all have it, and it lives with us all the time. It's just that our minds often have small flashes of awareness where we realize we can be happy here and now, with what we have and with whom we are currently sharing our lives.
I think a big mistake we sometimes make as human beings is idealizing. When we idealize, things seem unattainable.
You can be infinitely happy, for example, when you smell the aroma of coffee in the morning. When you shoot a basketball into the basket. When you feel the warm embrace of your own daughter.
🆃🅴🅻🅻 🅼🅴 🆂🅾🅼🅴🆃🅷🅸🅽🅶 🆃🅷🅰🆃 🅸🆂 🅽🅾🆃 🅺🅽🅾🆆🅽 🅰🅱🅾🆄🆃 🆈🅾🆄:
I can share some things that perhaps not everyone knows.
- When I was 14, I had my first girlfriend. Today she is my wife and the mother of my beloved daughter.
- I played basketball for 15 years.
- I've traveled to several countries around the world. But I would like to see them all and visit many of the people I know here.
- I owned a brewery.
- I have three pet turtles and two dogs.

What I appreciate most in other people is authenticity, that they are genuine. The world is full of superficiality, full of low integrity, full of betrayals, lies, and falsehood.
If you show yourself to me as you are, regardless of anything you consider flawed, you will be my friend!

My greatest virtue is being authentic, smiling. Someone once told me that my smile was the spark of my soul; I will treasure that compliment forever.

My biggest flaw is my lack of self-love. I tend to be so hard on myself that I constantly punish myself, and that usually leads to very low self-esteem.

Traveling is my favorite thing to do. Playing the ukulele, playing basketball, eating mint slush, cooking for friends.

There are so many interesting people here at FC. I've had the opportunity to do this with many of them. But I'd definitely like to continue doing this with anyone who feels they can share their talents with others and feel encouraged to tell us something about themselves. 24 replies

sometimes the ones who /shine the brightest are the last to notice their own light.
You're the kind of soul who can lift a heavy heart with just a smile, who spreads warmth without even trying. But maybe, somewhere in all that giving, you forgot how much of that kindness belongs to you too.
