This is EXACTLY why I started /unique-vehicles Im attracted to the unique and differing design elements that went into some of these vintage and unique vehicles. You don't have to be a car guy or gear head to appreciate beautiful and well designed vehicles.

India’s fundamentally shifted the way world looks at identity and payments by building permissioned open networks. Bringing the world onchain requires a deeper sense of building for population scale. Check out this interview by the man that helped shape India’s growth journey- https://youtu.be/YqdJSu1DX48?si=ZUw1vnxZQfE2jDAr

Very possible this is just my own special snowflake bias, but I feel very lucky that I learned to code before AI assistance and get to live through adoption of these new tools. I feel the same about growing up along with the Internet.

I've started reaching for display: grid; over display: flex; recently, even in cases where I'm not really working with a two-dimensional grid. Grid's fractional units often work really well with the designs I'm working on; better than flex-grow/shrink for sure. It feels like the end of an era for me.

two major discussions during today's dev call network architecture: @v presented an outline of the plan for snapchain, a pretty significant departure from the current consensus model which is showing signs of performance issues as the network grows while the proposed data structure is not a "blockchain", the protocol is inching towards questions of governance and security that are inherent to blockchains channels: @dwr.eth gave a sneak peek into the redesign of channels, which are currently not meeting the mark as curated cozy corners. details still pretty sparse, but the major change is that owners/mods will need to explicitly invite users to post in a channel, with the goal of cultivating higher signal and quality

I want Farcaster to succeed as I think it is truly important for humanity to have a "global town square" based on a neutral protocol rather than a platform owned by a single company, or worse, a single person. Still, I keep switching my default behavior to post on Twitter, simply because I get ~10x more resonance on Tweets. I assume (at least in the crypto-Twitter world) I am not the only one in this situation. So maybe some form of vampire attack could work. Try to get at least 1,000 people from CT with >1,000 followers to commit x$ to post exclusively on Farcaster for 1 month. As soon as the 1,000 people are reached, the agreement kicks in and everyone should only post here. Those who break the agreement get "slashed," and the slashed money is distributed among those actually following through. WDYT?

Wrote some thoughts on the new channels update that's coming. tl;dr definitely think it makes sense to lean into the "cozy corners" over the broader "hashtag" channels. Seems like the question when casting will now be if you're trying have a nuanced convo w friends or just posting as you would on Twitter. There's some channels that are clearly hashtags such as /books /founders that will need to niche down. And there are some today that are clearly cozy corners such as /latenightcrew /six. But it'll be interesting to see how the "middle" channels will adapt. For example, how do subtle topics such as /techarchive or location channels like /new-york or company channels like /paragraph look like? In the short term, there will definitely be chaos, pushback, etc. But in the long run, the corners should keep new users engaged long enough to "hook" them. THE MOST IMPORTANT part of this channels update will be reducing the friction of finding homes new users resonate with https://terminallyonchain.xyz/cozycorners

The new channels primitive is exciting. I’ve thinking about programmable group chats for a while and think we finally have the tech to make them successful (vs when FB and Reddit tried group chats for groups and failed). Grateful building on Farcaster means building with/on top of primitives made by some of the best product thinkers in crypto who are trying to provide real value for real people.
