I am having a lot of fun building my own version of openclaw/hermes. Building memory, heartbeats, self improvement, scheduled tasks, integrations, interfaces…. I actually built a version of this in December. The difference now is I built a native mobile app vs a PWA. And immediately usage went up, reliability went up. Of course there are things you can learn from openclaw and Hermes and that helps a lot.
