A fund can be wrong...🧶 Not always. But often enough. And yet, when you see “ @a16zcrypto led the round” or “ @paradigm ’s in,” something in your brain just relaxes. You stop thinking critically. You assume someone did the work. You buy not out of belief — but because someone else believed first ⤵️

2/6 They do have more data. Better access. Private calls, early decks, deal flow no one tweets about. Analyst teams tearing through tokenomics and team sheets while you’re still figuring out the whitepaper. It’s not even close — they analyze better than you ever will ⤵️

3/6 But all of that ends the moment the SAFE is signed. A fund doesn’t ship code. Doesn’t decide launch timelines. Doesn’t stop the team from pivoting into nonsense or vanishing altogether. They can advise, sure. But they’re not in control. Just along for the ride ⤵️

4/6 Still, you treat their presence like a green light. Delphi joins the seed round — you hold through red flags. Paradigm drops a podcast — you double down. You tell yourself they must know something. That this was vetted. That they wouldn’t back nonsense. Except sometimes they do ⤵️
