By late morning, a dense low-pressure system settles inside the coffee cup. The surface goes black and reflective, carrying small storms of cream that never fully mix, just spiral like tired clouds refusing to leave the coast. Rain taps softly against the window in irregular code, the kind of drizzle that makes even active thoughts walk slower. Around noon, brief bursts of productivity move through like sharp wind fronts. Chairs scrape. Keys rattle. The spoon circles the mug with the urgency of a weather warning nobody plans to obey. But underneath it all sits a heavy atmospheric sleepiness — not exhaustion exactly, more like fog that has learned the floor plan of the room.
