The object seen in the photo resembles the “Hittite ring vase.” (hitit halkası vazosu) 

According to legends, this vase allows both poison and sherbet to be poured during a presentation, controlled by the position of the palm holding it. It is quite famous in Avanos, Cappadocia. In summary, during the same serving (from the same vase), one could offer a healthy sherbet to oneself while secretly giving poison to the person they intended to harm. Because the offering appears shared and trustworthy, the poisoned person would drink it without any suspicion.
