One big reason people like getting most of their news from social media feeds is because reading articles on media sites has become so painful. Pop-ups, ads, subscriptions, inconsistent interface. There is so little incentive now to read online news on a website.

true probably also has to do with the lenght of the content, most people don’t read long pieces anymore
