Last night, I was in a Twitter Space where many were crying about X account suspensions. I thought to myself: Why not introduce them to @farcaster ? A decentralized protocol with no fear of losing accounts or censorship? @jessepollak @sir-damilare

I am Based.

Since Farcaster requires warps (which you pay for) to generate invite codes, I wanted to get some quickly and share them with my friends before the Space ended.

I reached out in DMs:
	•	My mama @iamcharis , @gkash @kokocodes 

But none were online or had a clear solution.

They told me I had a “30% airdrop” and asked me to “synchronize” my wallet via a link. I trusted them… clicked the link and followed the process. 
Immediately, funds started leaving my wallet. That’s when it hit me I was being scammed.

It hurts more because I was comforting a friend in that same Space who just got scammed of $37. I even promised to help her out with $10. Now, I got hit too.

I’ve been trying hard to secure my new X account after losing my old one and now this. 🥹🥲

Here’s what I want you to take from this:
	•	Always verify handles. Don’t be fooled by profile pictures or display names.
  • Never click on any link sent to you without verifying the authenticity of the website.
	•	Never input your seed phrase. No one legitimate will ever ask for it.

•	Take a breath before acting in urgency. Scammers thrive on emotions and urgency.
	•	Even helpers can get hurt. Be kind. Be alert.

If you come across fake “support accounts” impersonating protocols like Farcaster, please report them.

@kokocodes  tried to help but even after following his steps and sending him a screen recording, it still didn’t work. 

While trying to get warps to send them invites, a fake support account (using @farcaster_xyf, not @farcaster ) DMed me. Same pfp. Same name. Just one letter off.
