He opens Twitter to find it awash with hashtag slurry and endless noise. The feed refreshes faster than his mind can process it.
Damn it, he says aloud. The words come out wrong somehow. They’re thin and dry, almost like a hiss. He notices it briefly then ignores it.
His rank has slipped, and that can’t happen.
