Thailand’s Finance Minister, Pichai Chunhavajira, stated that although some countries allow crypto payments through credit card-linked systems, this is currently not allowed in Thailand. However, the government is exploring the possibility of permitting crypto to be used for specific services under tight regulatory oversight. A pilot initiative is being considered with the Bank of Thailand that would enable tourists to connect digital assets to their credit cards for spending within the country.
