Compass Box This Is Not A Luxury Whisky
A Limited-edition blended Scotch whisky, released in 2015 with only 4,992 bottles, inspired by René Magritte’s surrealist painting "Ceci n’est pas une pipe." Bottled at cask strength (53.1% ABV), non-chill-filtered, it challenges perceptions of "luxury" whisky through its complex flavor and transparent blend: 79% 19-year-old Glen Ord (first-fill sherry butts), 10.1% 40-year-old Strathclyde grain (refill American oak hogsheads), 6.9% 40-year-old Girvan grain (refill American oak hogsheads), and 4% 30-year-old Caol Ila (refill American oak hogsheads).

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Subtle smoke, sherry-driven sultanas, dried apricots, vanilla, coconut, green apple, and hints of leather and cocoa nibs.
Palate: Rich, oily, with black cherry, toffee, chocolate, and a delicate peat smoke, balanced by creamy grain notes.
Finish: Long, smoky fruitcake, with lingering berries, spice, and charred wood.
