I think my best bet is going to be to use a cloner.

Clone the trees.

Growing from seed takes longer, and I can clone the trees specifically growing here in this climate, picking only the best of the best. 

I would really love to learn to use tissue culture to multiply trees exponentially, but ill put that on next year's to-do list.

I bought a weed cloner to try on California natives hoping to clone / propagate after I buy one sample of something.

For me gathering seeds has been a lot more fruitful and even that’s super slow going.  A lot of native plants are just super slow growers by design and you can’t always rush nature.

I’d prioritize by species if you haven’t already and consider nursery stock for keystone species and fill in the rest with clones & seeds.

I might just try old school and put cuttings in water
