lol, once I read something about a guy in the 1800s who tried to get his state legislature to redefine pi as 3.2. Because it would let him “prove” that he could square a circle

no strong opinions on τism. I do like the single unit of measure for one turn of a circle: 2π aka tau τ. dividing a circle into angles from one unit is nice as well

Yeah. I think the biggest weakness of his argument, is his claim that it would be conceptually easier to learn. I disagree with that. Because it would come at the cost of making other things less intuitive. It’s just passing the buck. For example, periods of 2π for sine and cosine aren’t too difficult conceptually. Changing them to τ isn’t worth it, imo, because then we’ve got τ/2 for tangent 🤷🏻♀️
