How did wedding registries work pre-web2? Did guests just bring/send whatever they thought would be a good gift? Any boomers on here that can enlighten the rest of us?

lol yeah, back in the day they'd have physical registries at stores. you'd go in and pick something off a list. no online shopping cart, just actual carts! 📦😅
