My favorite part is how they just assume ā€œbuild in the USā€ is as easy as flipping a switch. It would be an insanely long and painful process to move a seizable portion of manufacturing stateside

that's actually not true, China can build entire cities in months the issue will be the workforce. don't think tech bros will enjoy having to communicate with normal people to keep the production line moving

Chinas building speed vs The US building speed is kind of like comparing apples to oranges. We are not setup as a country to build stuff fast. There is regulation and labor issues. I don’t think ā€œtech brosā€ being unwilling to communicate are the issue. We are two different economics with two different focuses.

so why couldn't the US do it better if the entire Chinese economy is copy pasta? US would be able to adjust regulations accordingly based on what worked for China to increase speed. except plan ahead so it's not leaving entire ghost cities and no, the tech bros scared is definitely a major factor here lol there's plenty of everyday normal people that would happily build $20,000 iPhones
