ha. I forgot about that. think this is a different era for the company and Nikita is coming in as a product person vs Hotz coming in as an engineer to fix their entire stack. There are so many basic things X could do to grow.

I see that more as his tweet style (shitposters will shit post). The whole reason his previous app Gas worked, was that he addresses the dark pattern of that particularly genre of app. He basically made an app that helps teens anonymously compliment each other.

social media tends to make teens (and adults) depressed. genuinely optimistic about anything that can make a dent in that. partially because it's so difficult.

most encouraging thing I've seen recently about teens and smartphones is that schools are doing hard bans on them then, a few weeks later, the kids report being happier.
