“Record in stealth. Livestream all day.” (Is that legal?)

The rare times I’ve been to parties lately (in San Francisco and London), I was surprised by the strict enforcement of this rule: stickers over everyone's phone camera lenses at all times. No exceptions.

So what happens now that everyone’s basically Spy Kids? Will people be asked to remove their glasses? Will countries with strict privacy laws require visible recording indicators on devices like status lights?

if anything, i think they should. i don’t think being able to stealthily record strangers is a good idea in any other sense apart from law enforcement. and even then.

Yeah it’s unpleasant to be recorded against your will.
