So far this year, I’ve done more in-person work with teams than in the past several years combined. And here’s what I’ll say: it’s an auspicious sign when a team chooses to gather. Can distributed teams ship and work well together? Absolutely. But can a team that never meets accomplish as much as one that gathers—periodically and with purpose? I’m not so sure.
