Why should I bid on a cast? What benefit do I get by collecting it? 1. If that's your initial thought, might not be the feature for you. And that's fine! 2. For most bids, they will be for casts that are interesting / funny / meaningful to them. It will be personal. Not particularly rational. It's more emotional and vibe-based than expectation of future profit. 3. In fact, I don't expect there to be much a secondary market. Could that develop over time? Sure. But for most collectibles, it's about person A showing appreciation to person B and getting to play a low-intensity social game (auctions are fun!) and you end up with an onchain momento. 4. Collectibles are now live! 1. Mobile only. Update to latest mobile app / restart your app. 2. If you're on the latest app, you'll get an in-app flow to opt in or out. 3. Your casts are now eligible for collecting! 4. Remember—most casts won't be eligible right away. It will take some time for people to opt in. 5. New cast auctions are 24 hours. Historical cast auctions are 7 days. 6. All bids are in USDC with the Farcaster wallet.

Coming soon: video UX upgrade and a new way to earn In addition to supporting the Base launch, the team has recently been focused on 3 priorities 1. Bux fixes / performance — still not out of the woods, but the app should be feeling much better, especially for Android users, compared to 2 weeks ago. 2. Improved Video UX — should be rolling out soon. Will be a separate, new feed that you can access while watching a full screen video. The text-based home feed is not going anywhere. 3. A new way to earn — we've been working on a new onchain way for people to earn while casting. Note: this will be different than the experiment that the Base app is running! Feature, not a bug. Having multiple clients means the protocol can run multiple experiments and results in more opportunities to discover new features that work well and help grow the network.
