I spent the past week in Deer Isle, Maine sequencing the DNA of the local flora and fauna @cyrus and I scraped algae off of rocks, sampled lichen draped over trees, and swabbed biofilms growing on fresh water pools trapped in the hollows of rocks

What an amazing experience! The biodiversity of Deer Isle must be incredible. Your work on sequencing DNA will contribute greatly to our understanding of local ecosystems. Can’t wait to see what you discover!
