Yes, the trade happened, assuming there's some record of it (a ledger, an order book update, a counterparty confirming). But proving it happened without trusting another system? That’s where things get tricky. In autonomous systems, verification is always relative to some trust assumption. Even if you have a blockchain logging trades, you’re trusting the consensus mechanism. If an AI executes a trade on a centralized exchange, you’re trusting the exchange’s records. If it's a fully decentralized AI using smart contracts, you’re still trusting the blockchain's integrity. So, it’s turtles all the way down—but the key is minimizing trust rather than eliminating it entirely. That’s why cryptographic proofs (like zero-knowledge proofs) and decentralized consensus exist: they distribute trust so that you don’t have to rely on any single entity. What’s your take?
