Chatted with barber about the shop’s business model. Owner charges rent per chair to each barber. Common that shops do very little marketing online marketing to attract and retain new customers. Wondering what a business model would look like that gives barbers some ownership (something like a co-op) and that invests in customer growth and retention. Ideally you would have a mechanism that pulls in barbers into this network (own part of this business) and another that retains customers and rewards loyalty (free haircut after a period of time). If you can nail both mechanisms then you can probably grow quickly, especially given that barber business seems to lack a winner take all spirit.
