I use this as my note taking platform while writing code.

I use a combination of softwares, the one in the image is TouchDesigner. The Python sign is because you can import code to create more freely, but it works well without coding too! Every now and then I make a live showing how it works :)

which is your favorite open source tool? 🫡

It depends on what you want to do, I think GIMP is very capable as a tool to edit, and even draw, if you manage to mess with custom brushes, etc.

krita is good too. I got into it because of the local inpainting plugin. https://github.com/Acly/krita-ai-diffusion

what do you think about blender?

Blender is great, the learning curve is a bit steep tho. But if the idea is to use 3D models, it's the way to go imo. 
I didn't know about Krita, it seems good.
