Recruiter sent me a Notion doc and a website for Farcaster. I said no because I had a competing offer in traditional NYC tech, and I would work mostly carte blanche with the exec team. Also check out the blurb for the other startup that raised $20 million for DAO tooling 😭

Also once you hit L7 at a tech company, it’s basically game over for your inbox. You get recruiter/InMail literally everyday. Crazy compensation packages and teams will do almost anything to get you to join. My friend had his entire roof replaced just so he could move to NYC. Another had the company buy his home..

Pick your projects, reorganize/restructure systems and teams.

so you did that for a long time - i remember a few days ago you told me you have been programming for 20 years - and now you are creating something that is just a creation of yours. how does that difference feel? what does it bring to your relationship with the things you do when coding?

Honestly no big difference except you have to be cautious with whom you work with. Workload is the same. Lots of folks in crypto would not make it through the culture interviews for a traditional tech company.

This is a low effort reply. Consistently replying to casts like this will end up having your account marked as spam.
