Today's technology tricks us into celebrating the lack of friction to start a project/business/anything, while completely ignoring the monumental struggle to stand out. Sure, the gates are open, but there are now eight billion other people walking through them. Mass accessibility dilutes the value of our effort. Maybe it's time to stop bragging about being a tiny fish in an ocean-sized pond.
