What if, instead, you just saw civil discourse? https://farcaster.xyz/chrislarsc.eth/0x57427a62

I’m absolutely for civil discourse. But typically that is not what I’ve encountered. It’s generally people who are arrogant enough to imagine they have the “right” world view and then belittle others about it. Especially, in this case, when the majority of folks have cast their voice to the commons to say that they disagree with those views and are doing it in a fair way. I also speak up because I’m pretty disheartened by the fact that a space that I’ve always considered progressive, punk, future minded, has kind of deviated a lot from that. So it’s a loaded thing. Mamdani/NYC discourse has just become entangled in that

I think IRL spaces do not reflect the views of the majority when it comes to politics. “Social media + politics” is for *those* arrogant people you’ve identified; it attracts them like bears to honey.

They do, just not as in your face. Trust me haha. But I agree the screen emboldens many. And doesn't not encourage discussion. But i'm here for all of it. Bring it to the commons. I can speak, interact, and befriend people with opposing views (within limits). However, keeping some level of humanity is a requirement for that to happen.
