If I consider myself an artist, and approach my work as an artist, does it matter if the person experiences it sees it as a piece of art?

Art is done for ourself in the first place, and I don’t think it does. Art is communication, so what matters is that the person feels instead of seeing. My 2 cents🖤

Unless you’re just doing it for you, what I know about art is that it evokes emotions. If that isn’t happening with your audience, your definition loses structure

Ahh very subjective! Most people connect with Art with their whole past life experiences, their thought processes and the way their environment treats them.

it doesn't matter because that entirely depends on their perception and previous experience but if you make design decisions to evoke specific emotions in people. some of them might!
