The Brutalist-inspired cone-shaped water tower was built in 1997 near Grand Central Airport in Midrand, South Africa. It was designed by local architectural firm GAPP Architects & Urban Designers. Its creators call the building an “industrial, urban sculpture,” and the first tiers of the tower have floors that can be used outside of the context of its primary water tower function.
