Lately I’ve had some free time so I've been watching the movies being mentioned this award season.
- Sing Sing was incredible. I really liked it
- Anora was great. The praise is deserved.
- A Different Man was a surprise—very inventive, super well acted, and right up my alley thematically but I know not everyone will love it.
- But, so far, Nickel Boys is in a class of its own. It feels unfair to compare it to other movies. It’s like Ramel Ross is making art in a medium other people don’t even have access to yet. I imagine that this will influence a lot of filmmakers in years to come.
