Titled “Market-Based Emission Mechanism,” the proposal was introduced by Tushar Jain and Vishal Kankani of Multicoin Capital, along with Max Resnick of Anza. Its aim is to replace Solana’s existing fixed inflation schedule with a dynamic inflation model that better balances network security and economic efficiency. This voting will conclude at the end of Epoch 755, which is about 1 day and 13 hours from now. As it involves rewards from staking, SIMD-228 could have far-reaching implications for Solana’s future.
