My messy, disconnected stream of consciousness on the latest Zora update, creator coins and onchain social in general. Firstly, having an emotional reaction to the way people use permissionless technology is a waste of energy. As someone who has been deep in crypto for 5+ years whilst also being a creator in web2 for 10+ years, this is the first time I’ve been able to seamlessly combine the two without having to over-explain what I’m doing to either audience - that’s a win. The biggest challenge with onchain social has always been making it easy for creators to use and understand. Creators don’t care about infra, crypto or ERC20s they just want to post and make more than $0. Zora is very easy to use. I open my phone, I tap post, select the image and choose a title. Whether Zora is easy to understand is a different question. I still don’t really know what my market cap means. I don’t know which tokens I should sell and my fees seem to change periodically. This is the next big UX hurdle.
