Had a convo with some friends this weekend and it got me thinking... What are your all-time no-skips albums? The ones you throw on and just let ride because every track hits.

Mars Volta - Deloused & Frances the mute Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion Frank Ocean - Blonde SZA - CTRL Coheed - second stage turbine blade & in keeping secrets Thursday - full collapse Arcade Fire - Suburbs And many many more, can’t beat the end to enders. That’s how I pick what albums I collect on vinyl

I saw Death Cab play with Explosions in the Sky like 6-7 (?) years ago.. midway thru the death cab set, ben threw a hissy fit -- started throwing gear around the stage, singing like a dick, etc. like, grow up man

The strokes are one of my fave bands and I saw them last year and Julian was so unengaged and clearly did not want to be there, super annoying between songs. Def a huge turn off but also that’s kind of their brand lol so it’s hard to hate

I hate that shit, but yes, very on brand lol two random strokes thoughts: 1. check out the doc "Meet Me in the Bathroom" if you haven't already https://youtu.be/UgHN-YE7IPI?si=tJAsQTfVDjN6cfk2 2. the only concert I saw in 2020 was The Strokes -- they played a Bernie Sanders rally at UNH ahead of super tuesday lol

i read the book, it was great. for person who grew up listen to them and lived on the other side of the world, knowing the culture that shape such bands is very refreshing. i love the story about the birth of DFA (huge fan of DFA) and the emerging NY indie scene during that era. how the strokes kicking off "the" band name meta. lol gonna watch the documentary for sure
