I agree mostly. It's also really easy to feel strongly emotional and react as such due to information asymmetries (I.E. there's things known internally at Merkle that are not publicly shared, at least immediately) that can feel very disheartening when people are upset about something you have way more context on. But "power users feel unheard" is not a new phenomenon on farcaster. It used to be something I'd bring up and advocate for. And candidly, it feels way worse now.
It's fine if you want to pivot. It's fine if you tell us you are pivoting. But retroactively justifying an explicitly incompatible change as "good, actually" for the original goal and shutting down and ignoring those saying this, and worse, propping up someone actively hostile and toxic who we absolutely do not need more of is telling us we're not just unheard, it's basically telling us to leave.
I get it. It's a new direction. Things are changing. But at a bare minimum, be honest about it.
But hey, it's a (mostly) open protocol, so we have many ways we can vote on this without voting with our feet.
