Farcaster is forking! As a user, what does this mean? - Your account will continue to stay valid. Our side of the fork is going to make that indefinite. No more annual storage subscriptions, no casts lost to the ether, no limits on follows. - Long casts, more embeds by default, and lowest fee possible swaps in wallet. Get what Neynar's billing you with Farcaster Pro, for free. As a dev, what does this mean? - The protocol fork will produce two competing chains: one, with validators comprised of strictly neynar and uno (as neynar controls who can peer), the other, free to join by anyone - The different repositories will diverge in features over time, this will mean mini apps and integrations will start to misbehave for one side of the fork. Not right away, but over time. Why? Neynar has repeatedly abused their new power, and is lying to users by telling them they are upholding farcaster as a decentralized network. It is not. Validators are controlled by them. Who? Neynar bought farcaster's domains and infra from Merkle. If a protocol is truly decentralized, they don't get to have an inequal say. We're going to prove that. When? At the time of the upcoming network fork. Token? There's open suggestions and discussions in https://github.com/farcasterorg. Come join us!
