The Great Wall Myth Busted

Despite the popular belief, the Great Wall of China is not visible to the naked eye from the Moon—and even from low Earth orbit it’s extremely hard to spot without powerful zoom lenses. Astronauts say that, under perfect lighting and weather conditions, you might just glimpse it as a faint line, but it’s no more conspicuous than many other large human-made features like highways or airport runways. So while it’s one of humanity’s grandest architectural feats, the Wall’s visibility from “space” is more myth than reality.
