The US Securities and Exchange Commission, under former chair Gary Gensler, used settlements to pressure founders of decentralized finance platforms from ever working in the industry again, according to venture capital firm Founders Fund partner Joey Krug.

The seizure was the result of a collaborative effort between the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the Homeland Security Investigations in San Diego, California, prosecutors said in a Feb. 24 X post.

The two new ETFs are designed to track a diverse index of crypto assets, providing US investors with a one-stop-shop crypto portfolio.

Preetam Rao, CEO of QuillAudits, a Web3 security company, expressed concerns about the TRUMP token’s allocation structure and purpose.

Standard Chartered has worked with stablecoin issuers and participated in HKMA’s tokenized money initiatives. Animoca Brands is a major player in the blockchain scene with a unicorn status, while HKT specializes in mobile payment systems. The joint venture plans to explore stablecoin applications, including domestic and cross-border payments.

Traders were initially skeptical of the token, as many unofficial copycats currently exist — including one from Martin Shkreli, with the ticker symbol DJT.

Collectively, tokenized RWAs — including tokenized securities — represent a $30 trillion market opportunity globally, Colin Butler, Polygon’s global head of institutional capital, told Cointelegraph in an August interview.

The group plans to apply for a license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the city’s de facto central bank.

“Given that TRUMP can be easily purchased by foreign individuals or governments, this would appear to be a violation of this clause,” the attorney said.

In a written statement, Consensys attorney Bill Hughes characterized the incoming Trump administration as a “sea change.” The attorney told Cointelegraph:
