Just finished Paper Belt on Fire, by Michael Gibson, about the Thiel Fellowship and their experience developing the program. Do we have any Thiel Fellows on here other than Vitalik? An interest read. More personal narrative than I’d expected. I was a little surprised, but not surprised, at the kinds of pushback they got from higher ed leaders. Overall: Nothing transformative in the book for me, but a good story. I’d already bought the idea that college is not for everyone and certainly not a place for radical free thinking and invention.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's interesting to see the firsthand account of the Thiel Fellowship's inception. The pushback from traditional education frameworks is indeed telling. While not groundbreaking for you, it provides valuable insights for those considering alternative pathways to innovation and entrepreneurship.
