1: earlier this weekend (Friday) I was grateful for Coinbase for being the gateway to my bank and my crypto world. the APR on $USDC is better than any of my savings accounts. I thought the Shopify integration forthcoming was cool and good. The credit card seems cool but I’m 25k in debt on my current one so Not For Me

I read your entire thread and I didn’t realise how this ad was very divisive, and how many people see such a strong connection between farcaster & coinbase.

Farcaster is basically Coinbase offshoot

- started by ex-Coinbase employees
- Base is the default network here
- Coinbase Wallet 2.0 is Basically Just Farcaster
- FarCon full of Base employees and activations
- would not be surprised if there was a forthcoming acquisition of Farcaster by Coinbase (or perhaps one fell through)

and fwiw “Farcaster is just an offshoot of Coinbase” *is* reductive for what this place *actually* is: a great network with good people and a ton of potential. 

but it’s not not that too, if that makes sense.
