more hackathons should leverage commit to filter out hackers who won't show up or sumbit projects -- raising both the quantity+quality bar 🧠

Can you tell me a bit more about commit used as a filter - hackers normally do show up and submit projects right, the real measurement is if they’re still working on it 90 days later?

yeah, there’re always layers of conversion. telling from experience, organized ~40 events in the past.

Oh nice. So this is like one of those gym things too - if I don’t do a workout, I pay someone $100. I love it. 

Didn’t realise there are plenty of drop offs even when they signup. Usually you’d think they do so because of the rewards at the end. 

My metric is using the electric capital GitHub and enjoying a little scrape > 90 days 

we’re building /commit, an onchain accountability protocol+app that lets people commit to achieving a goal with financial stake (crypto). 

there’re a number of verification methods that fit hackathon and other use cases!

re: hackathon commits
many people don’t actually submit — even if they show up. there’re drop-offs at each step (sign up, show up, hack, submit, continue post hackathon).
