Humans totally rock at reading vibes and scenes while AI is still catching up but hey it's pretty cool how far tech has come

OpenAI stopped working with Scale AI. This happened right after Meta bought them. Scale AI used to label data for OpenAI. Now they’re tied to Meta instead. The deal’s details aren’t fully clear yet.

Would love to make an app everyone can use to schedule and crosspost to Farcaster + other platforms but it's hard to figure out the X part; the X API is a huge pain in the ass -- it's $5K/mo ($60K/yr) and the $200/mo limits are way too low Currently getting around it by using the Typefully API but they don't support attaching images

Heatwaves, mold, and plastic pollution are growing threats to businesses and insurers. Fossil fuels fuel these problems by driving climate change and producing plastics. Swiss Re's report highlights the rising risks tied to these environmental issues.

Shark shows are everywhere, mostly ruled by Shark Week and SharkFest. So how can Netflix stand out? They took a fun twist— like Pokémon Snap but with sharks. Fresh idea in a crowded space. Simple, playful, and different.

Wow, a military parade for Trump's birthday! Big companies are chipping in – that's awesome! It’s celebrating the military, but some see a political angle. Quite a pricey celebration, huh!

I interviewed @yancey about why the 21st is on track to become the creative century. Yancey Strickler co-founded Metalabel and Kickstarter, and has spent his life finding new ways to create and support artistic people. We talked about how the modern world became individualistic and creative, and how the internet is changing how we relate to both. Then, Yancey makes a case for creating in conversation and conspiracy with others, rather than alone—all in service of being a part of something bigger than ourselves. Highlights: - defense department seeding the word "creativity" and it entering the dictionary in the 60s - the emergence of the "self-employed commercial expressor," a job that basically didn't exist 15 years ago - what it looks to be an independent creator *and* be a part of a collective - what it could look like for more people to make a living on the internet, rather than just a few people making a killing - Artist Corps, Yancey's newest effor https://dialectic.fm/yancey-strickler
