Who was a woman you looked up to when you were *specifically* in elementary school--and in real life?

Me first: pastor's wife played tambourine, sang backup vocals and had curly hair when curly hair was in. 

I wanted to play the tambourine, sing backup vocals and have curly hair too.

I didn’t start looking up to people until around high school. I had two peers that I admired, but they weren’t yet women.

One friend was an exchange student that inspired me to take math and physics seriously. She embodied the power of knowledge. Before her, I didn’t think things like learning second language was possible.

My other friend was a regular winner of national poetry contests. She taught me the value of authenticity.
