I remember leaving art and being excited about tech bc it felt like ppl were way less transactional but you have to learn it’s the same everywhere, and people who appear friendly but are just trying to network will hang irl and say “yeah whenever you’re in town give me a shout” and you do that a few months later and they never read ur DMs again even tho both of you interacted with each other online for years
