When I read women complaining about international women’s day falling on daylight savings and being 23h instead of 24h, I am reminded that some people *choose* to live in a self-reinforcing echo chamber of grievance and oppression narratives that make their life miserable.
We can look at the same day through another lens if we let ourselves. Oh international women’s day falls on daylight savings, of courseeee the days are going to feel longer and brighter from here!!
To quote one of my favourite books, “we either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same”.
I’m well aware there is inequality between women and men. Like many others, I have experienced this plenty. But if we only continually choose to be the victim, how can we truly become empowered?
