This place is becoming hostile for new people and if this continues it may be the end of it.

It’s a tough balance.
The platform needs usage to be alive, so incentives to participate are high. Incentives drive low quality content creators to flood the feeds/channels looking for engagement. Content from the OGs is seen as quality content by the OGs running the show so those accounts are elevated.

The f*ck off and build your own mentality is fine and valid… it’s what the OGs did. They didn’t like the platforms that existed so they f*cked off and built their own. They are giving good advice.

That’s also totally true.
Once a team feels it’s being exploited they tend to look as input from the community to be a potential attack to extract value or disrupt.

It how it works with teams within large corporations, organizations, etc. farcaster community today feels like a mega-global organization’s culture. Lots of initiatives seeking attention for what’s important to them, each more important than the next. Definitely a tough spot to be in.
